Day 1: Hotel Torres Del Fuerte

You will be welcomed at the Los Mochis International Airport (LMM or other), by an English-speaking representative of Torres Travel Company (TTC). He will drive you to the charming colonial town El Fuerte Sinaloa; 1 hour 45 min. away from Los Mochis. You will check-in at the magnificent boutique hacienda Hotel Torres del Fuerte, a recently restored antique mansion located one block away from the main plaza in the historical district. Welcome!

Day 2: The Canyon Adventure

After a worthy breakfast at Hotel Torres Del Fuerte we have scheduled private transportation to take the First-class train better known as “El Chepe”, to Posada Barrancas, featuring the most spectacular portion of the train ride, such as the Septentrion Gorge and the loops at Temoris. Enjoy lunch on board the train and have a cocktail at the bar, while experiencing the best rail scenery of the world right outside your window.
After the arrival, you will be transferred to the Mansion Tarahumara Hotel, right on the rim of the canyon. A great location for scenic walks and exploration. One nearby spot to visit is the “La Cueva del Chino” , a cave dwelling still in use by Raramuri Indians. “breath taking views of the canyon”

Day 3: The 3 Canyons Vehicle Excursion and Creel

AM: You have seats reserved to enjoy a spectacular vehicle excursion featuring great overlooks and Raramuri Indian handicrafts shopping at Piedra Volada ( The Balancing Rock), Las Escaleras (The Ladders) and Divisadero.
PM: Private transfer to have some free time to enjoy the town of Creel, then go on to the Sierra Lodge, rustic luxury out in the wilderness, located in the middle of great hiking around the majestic Cusarare waterfall.
Note: Although the lodge does NOT have electricity, you will not miss it, one cannot help but fall in love with the great ambiance that is created by the romantic kerosene lamps, cozy fire places, and antique wood stoves–plenty of hot water!

Day 4: The Amazing Cuzarare

Cuzarare is blessed with a great variety of trails that allow access to natural beauty, besides having the opportunity of taking a better look at the Raramuri Indians lifestyle and culture. You will have a better chance.
BEGINNER/Cusarare Mission: Ramble thru Raramuri country following the Cusarare stream before arriving at the Cusarare Colonial Mission, one of the oldest in the area, with fascinating architecture and decorations, a bell tower you can actually climb, and perhaps the best museum in the area, exhibiting an impressive collection of 17th and 18th century religious paintings. After visitiswing by Cueva Pintada” (Painted Cave) and take a look at the enigmatic and mysterious cave paintings. (3-4 hours plus time at the museum, 3.5 miles). The Amazing Nature Walk. “As you stand before a canyon, one can’t help but bow its breath taking beauty!”

Day 5: The Best View in the Copper Canyons

AM/PM: Relax and enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the Sierra Lodge, before departing around mid-morning to Creel, where you will catch the “Chepe” westbound first-class train to Bahuichivo. There, you will be met and taken to the Hotel Paraiso del Oso, a fine lodge located in the middle of a picturesque mountain valley.
Time permitting; we’ll take a short hike to the “Cave of the Crosses” an interesting and anthropologically significant former Raramuri cave dwelling.

Day 6: The Cerro Gallegos Overlook

AM: this day we have seats reserved to one of the most spectacular tours on the trip; the Cerro Gallegos Van Excursion is considered to have the best views of the complexity of the canyon. This is a great time to take lots of photos!
PM: First-class train to El Fuerte.

Day 7: El Fuerte Day Tour

Enjoy the Wonderful Colonial town of El Fuerte. Today we have planned a full day tour for you, featuring The River Float Tour with Petroglyph exploration at the “Cerro De La Mascara”, The Capomos Indian Village and a walking city tour with the history of this 400+ year old Colonial Jewel.

Flora & fauna / petroglyphs ( 2 hrs)
Experience this vast river and diverse bird life! Amid the verdant tropical forest on the tranquil waters of the EL Fuerte River cruise you will find an oasis of flora & fauna. A relaxed and beautiful experience, as well as a visit to the ancient Nahuatl Petroglyphs. More than 60 species of birds are frequently spotted from the boat as well as exotic flora. There are also 20 different varieties of amphibians, 87 species of reptiles and 50 types of freshwater fish.

Walking tour in El Fuerte (1:30 hrs)
Discover the historical and cultural aspects of El Fuerte Sinaloa. From the majestic El Fuerte River to the colonial buildings, storied streets, and legendary alleys & walkways. Discover everything from the rich Colonial history, Battles between the Spaniard conquistador and the mayo Indians, the history of the Yoreme Indian culture and religious rituals, the architectural masterpieces that enhance the colorful magical town.

Day 8: Consider an extended stay!

Transfer to Los Mochis International airport (LMM or other), where you will be assisted while checking in by your English Speaking guide.

With experienced bilingual guide:

One person, $2,499, single occupancy.
Two person, $1,999 per person, double occupancy.
Three person, $1,799 per person, Triple occupancy.
Four person, $1,499 per person, double occupancy

Included in the cost is:

· The services of a bilingual guide throughout your trip,

· Round-trip first-class travel on the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railroad “Chepe”, considered one of the most dramatic and scenic rail journeys in the world,

· All lodging, Meals as marked, BLD (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

· All excursions (the Three Canyons cultural and canyon rim tour at Areponápuchi, the half-day cultural and canyon rim tour of Cerocahui and Cerro Gallegos, and hiking around both the Sierra Lodge and Paraiso del Oso), El Fuerte full day tour.

· All airport/train station/hotel transfers upon your arrival in Los Mochis, or other.

Not included in trip price:

Airfare to and from Los Mochis, Mexico (airport code LMM), where the trip begins,
Tips for trip guide, baggage handling, hotel staff, drivers, musicians, dancers, etc. (can be included at your request for your convenience)
Personal purchases such as souvenirs, handicrafts, snacks and alcoholic beverages.
Mexico tourist card ($22 per person; normally added into the price of your airline ticket). Insurance or others.

 

RESERVATIONS:
· Reservations for all trips are accepted via email or fax after your desired itinerary and dates are selected and confirmed.

· A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking to hold hotel rooms, buy train tickets, etc. Final payments are due 30 days prior to the trip date.

· All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
